We're often asked "how did you choose the name - Seventy-Seven Signs?"

Is there a hidden meaning? Well, it was late in 1976 and the company was in its infancy. ‘76 Signs’ didn’t sound right. But ‘77 Signs’ did. They were right, it was better and so it stuck.

40 years ago this decision was made. Throughout the years there have been other important decisions that helped us maintain, grow and meet your needs. Just think for a moment how signs have changed over the last 40 years.

High voltage neon was being used everywhere. Although neon will never be completely replaced, technology has given us LED and it’s here to stay. LED is even replacing fluorescent lighting. At one time we hand painted each letter on a sign! Now automated equipment prints and cuts all the lettering. One or two colour advertising is no longer standard, full colour printing is being demanded by everyone. Technology is driving live animation on electronic screens in front of businesses, even with time of day advertising.

What hasn’t changed is the need for businesses like yours to advertise and maintain brand recognition through an effective sign program. This is our strength. We work with businesses to drive customers to your door. From this, our corporate statement was born:
